Michaelkirchstrasse is located in the southern part of Berlin Mitte, on the border of Kreuzberg. The site is near Alexanderplatz and the Ostbahnhof and is in the vicinity of a number of S and U-Bahn stations.
The plot is located between two existing buildings, and maintains a typical Berlin ground use, with a front and back building, connected though a large courtyard shared with the neighboring building. The two-building complex incorporates a double volume office or retail space on street level, whilst the rest of the bulk is made up of contemporary living units.
